I was looking for a background light to light up the wall behind my monitor, to ease eye strain. I couldn’t find any suitable product so I ordered this very affordable lamp. I 3-D printed two clips and mounted it just behind the top edge of my monitor. It gives just the right amount of light and I like the ability to change to a warmer tone, for night sessions.

I was growing frustrated that many of my coworkers seemed to be adverse to overhead lighting, like vampires, or something. That's when I was ecstatic to find this portable, USB powered, easily mountable on a monitor option for lighting up my desktop, especially when desk space is at a premium.This light allows for a variety of color and brightness options. It's mounting flexibility allowed me to mount it on top of my existing monitor. All I had to do was plug it into a free USB port and the backlight on the remote let me know I was in business.There is the simple power on/off switch on the bottom. Moving up there is a decrease intensity button, then a color change button. Then at the top there is a increase intensity button.There are three different color modes, and many different brightness modes for each color. The LEDs are deep enough into the housing that the LEDs don't shine directly into your eyes, and the frosting helps diffuse the light, as well.There is a spring-loaded clip that holds it to your monitor which I am glad of so that if I need to quit my job, I can just grab it, slay some vampires with it, and head out the door. No permanent mountings for desk changes, monitor changes, or job changes!Overall, this is a great value for anyone who wants adjustable light at their desk
