My tap water is gross, in the summer comes out hot. Just not enjoyable.Couple years back got a Primo water dispenser, and refilled the 5 gallon jugs (4 jugs at a time).Usually Primo refill stations either work or they don’t! Lugging 20 gallons of water isn’t fun! Would run me about $300 in refills yearly & spending 12 hours yearly loading the car, actually refilling, waiting on line, dealing with broken machines - to find another station. A 5 gallon jugs of water weighs 45lbs! I did this for a couple of years. Yes the water was great, chilled and hot water on demand when needed!Recently i started looking into options for in home filter systems, theres a ton of products- under sink units. We had our small kitchen renovated , with quartz countertops, so drilling on that for luke warm water wasn’t enticing.Came across this Brio RO system, and it checked all the boxes, similar filtration- with chilled, hot, and bonus of room temperature water (for the odd ball guests who prefer it!).Now where the cooler would be located (to replace the Primo cooler) was the ideal spot, thing is i had to run the lines within the cabinets. If you want to run the lines as neatly as possible, running behind a lazy susan, dishwasher - you’ll need the following materials…* Eastman Ice Maker Installation Kit #247012 — 25 ft of 1/4” polyethylene tubing. You used this for the longer Brio water/drain runs.* DeWalt 3/4” spade bit — for drilling the cabinet pass-through holes.* DeWalt 1/4” HSS twist drill bit — for drilling the RO drain-saddle hole.* Gardner Bender 1/2” cable clamps — 12-pack, for securing the two 1/4” tubes together along the cabinets.* Hillman #6 × 5/8” zinc pan-head wood screws — 18-pack, for attaching those clamps to the cabinet.—-The supplied tubing was 7 ft , which wasn’t enough, 25 ft was more than sufficient. They do provide a tube splicer. The cable clamps were great to keep the lines organized in the cabinets- especially the lazy susan. The water line hooked up easily, the RO discharge line took some time but i got it, my sink is tight with a dishwasher, so it had to be hooked up under the dishwasher discharge above the ptrap.Ran a couple of dishwasher rinse tests , no issues.Filtered the supplied cartridges which was easy.It uses a 1/4 quick connect tabs to lock the lines. I bought extras on amazon just in case i lose em - these aren’t sold at the big box stores.I’m not a plumber, but to do the job neatly it took 3 hours- spent about $40 on the extra materials. The machine is a tad noisy, not super loud but you’ll definitely hear it in the same room.I just got the machine installed, so far the value is there for us, save time!Just tested the water …TDSTap water - 173 , Brio RO Room temp water - 19. An 89% reduction of junk in water!
We had ours for over a year now and we couldn’t see drinking water without it. We use it every day and such an awesome product.
Easy to install, good product, but it makes to much noise when cooling, before, during and after.
Owned this for years and still working great tasting clean water
I've been using the product for a while now, and I think it's excellent.
