1st thing is , easy set up, easy to use. It works well for us for humidification. It’s not too heavy or bulky either. Ours is a small house so keep that in mind. It was packaged well and in good working order. We’re very pleased.

Works great! Outside temps were in the low teens. House temp mid 70’s. My guitar room And house RH was in the low 20% to low 30% with my gig bag RH in the 30% to 35% range. Turned on this Vornado to 55% setting on high speed and by morning the room (closed door) was in the mid 40% range with both gallon tanks empty. It automatically shut off. So I filled the tanks and turned it back on. I kept close watch on the water levels after that first night. By the second day I was in the low 50% range and gig bags were mid 40%. And I am only having to fill one gallon tank evert other day. Love it!

It humidifies 2 gal of water a day max. It increases humidity about 5% for about 2000 sq ft. It maintains ~32% humidity when set to a lower fan speed (quiet fan). We have hard water, so the wicks last about 4 weeks before they get hard and dry. I clean with vinegar every 10 days to eliminate the slim, which is a pain. When cleaning, I soak the wicks in water/vinegar to try to remove the hardness, but this doesn't seem to help much.Maybe I will get an HVAC humidifier to eliminate most of the maintenance.

This unit replaces an old AirCare unit that finally developed cracks in the base and was kaput. I bought two of these, one for each floor of the house. The humidity levels are good.The fan is VERY quiet, even at high speed. It looks like the kind of fan inside a computer.The two tanks are convenient, as you can bring one to the sink for refill and the other is still full. For unknown reasons (possibly the tilt of the floor) one tank always empties fully and then the other takes over.The ONLY difficulty I see for some users is that the locking base of the tank is stiff to turn. It may break-in a little (I have only had these for a week) and get easier, but if you have arthritis or otherwise can't apply much force, this may be a poor choice. If not for this I would have given 5 Stars.Otherwise, the unit is very cleverly designed. It comes apart easily for cleaning. There are electrical safety disconnects in two places, so if you lift the head off (contains motor), OR lift the mid section off the base, the unit disconnects. Simply replacing the part reconnects the power. ALSO, there is a transformer in the mid section which takes household current and outputs it to 12V DC (checked with multimeter), so there is no dangerous current at any of the disconnects.The wicks need replacement as with any evaporative unit, and the Original Brand is just slightly more expensive than the knock-offs. I would go with Original, as I had poor results with the knock-offs with my previous unit.

Upon receipt, I was skeptical this small 2 gallon unit could humidify my 13 x 21 family room thru cold, dry New England winter season. After 3 weeks of use, I am impressed and very satisfied with this purchase.Initially set fan to turbo and RH target to 50% to humidify the environment. It soaked up 4 gallons every day (the room is 13x21 with a large open hall to the rest of the 1st floor plus an air return for the gas fired hot air furnace).After two weeks the RH reacted 50% and the unit shut off. Reset the fan to eco mode and 40% RH. The fan is very quiet in this mode. It consistently puts out 2 gallons a day.The tanks are very convenient to refill. The caps do require some grip strength to take off and put on. However the caps have very large ridges so it is very easy to get a secure grip and apply leverage. These caps are much larger and easier to grip, twist and properly seat than the cap on any other humidifier tank I have had.Tested the RH with a separate meter. It confirmed the room humidity is right at 40%.Another positive, it looks good.Haven’t cleaned it yet so can’t comment. Hopefully other reviews that say it is easy are correct.Highly recommend this model.
